XBRL Filing Singapore — ACRA XBRL Preparation & Filing Support
SBS prepares XBRL financial statements for Singapore companies and helps determine whether the filing should use Simplified XBRL, Full XBRL or another ACRA filing format based on the company’s circumstances and financial statements.
SBS’s published XBRL fee range starts from S$99 and varies by filing type, company structure and complexity. The scope and fee are confirmed after reviewing the financial statements.
XBRL Preparation Matched to the ACRA Filing Your Company Needs
ACRA’s filing requirements differ by company type and size. SBS reviews the completed financial statements first, identifies the appropriate XBRL scope, and confirms the preparation requirements before work begins.
Determine the Filing Scope
- Review whether financial statements need to be filed with ACRA
- Assess whether Simplified XBRL, Full XBRL or another filing format applies
- Review whether a PDF copy of the authorised financial statements is also required
- Flag unusual circumstances that may need separate review before filing
Prepare the XBRL File
- Use the completed financial statements as the source document
- Map relevant financial statement line items to the applicable ACRA taxonomy
- Prepare the required primary statements and selected notes for the applicable template
- Coordinate clarification of missing or inconsistent financial information
Validate & Coordinate Filing
- Run validation checks before finalisation
- Review validation issues and correct data where the source records support the correction
- Provide the completed XBRL file for the annual return filing workflow
- Coordinate with separately scoped financial statement or annual return work where engaged
For Singapore Companies With Financial Statements Ready for ACRA Filing
XBRL preparation is most efficient when the company’s financial statements have already been completed and authorised. If the accounts or financial statements are not ready, SBS can separately assess the accounting or financial-statement work required first.

Common Questions
Does every Singapore company need to file XBRL?+
No. The filing requirement depends on the company’s circumstances. ACRA provides exemptions and different filing formats for certain company types. SBS reviews the company profile before confirming the XBRL scope.
What is the difference between Simplified XBRL and Full XBRL?+
ACRA uses different XBRL templates. Smaller and non-publicly accountable companies that meet ACRA’s criteria generally use Simplified XBRL together with a PDF copy of the authorised financial statements, while other companies required to file financial statements may need Full XBRL. Special templates or PDF-only filing can apply to certain company types.
What changed for XBRL in 2026?+
ACRA introduced the 2026 XBRL taxonomy and updated BizFinx tools for filings from 25 February 2026. SBS prepares the filing against the applicable current ACRA taxonomy and validation rules.
Do I need completed financial statements before XBRL can be prepared?+
Yes, the XBRL file is prepared from the company’s completed financial statements. If the statements are not ready, SBS can separately quote the accounting and unaudited financial statement preparation work first.
Can SBS prepare the financial statements and XBRL together?+
Yes. Financial statement preparation and XBRL can be quoted together where required. They remain distinct work scopes so the quotation can reflect the actual records and filing complexity.
How much does XBRL filing cost?+
SBS’s published XBRL fee range starts from S$99, excluding GST. The final fee depends on the XBRL type, company structure, financial statement complexity and whether consolidated information is involved.
